This is the 20th installment of my weekly Blog Poetry Slam, so glad you stopped on by. I thought maybe today we can write poems that incorporate numbers or math of some sort. Do you accept the challenge? I am gonna share a piece after the picture and another in the comments, please join me... I look forward to reading your poems, they can be short (even haiku), long, serious, or funny: it's up to you! Happy Writing!
this is a stanza from one of my poems Love At First Sight
I wanted your digits…
to figure out the derivative of your good nature,
be around to witness the product of your multiplicity of goals,
and see how they all add up to make your total package.
and here's a haiku:thief, you stole my heart
about six or seven times
but who is counting?

If I count the number of times I’ve been down this road
and multiply it by the number of moves I’ve made to change my course
it would equate to zero.
If I add up the number of my dreams I’ve had
and divide it by the number of my accomplishments,
it would equate to zero.
Something’s gotta give- let me recalculate:
I need to subtract my fears
from the number of circles that I walk
then maybe add that number back onto my dreams
and multiply it by some actions
and then, just maybe, I’d get some results.
@eyesqueen...loved it!
yours too Alise

It's one too many.
Two divided by two, I
Battle additions.
eysqueen... I love it!!!
good one VF!
i don't know
why
i do thangs
like saggin my pants
hard to walk and all
gotta reach so far down
to get money from pockets
or
why
leave da round sticker
on baseball caps
like tis new
but tis really aint
i follow many
in hopes of being
some ONE
10 fingers
10 toes
2 eyes
2 ears
1 mouth
1 nose
4 limbs
1 brain
1 heart
1 race..... 1 love, 1 life... 1 moment at a time.
When I was one,
It was easy to please me.
Now I am two,
Me the mama and you
My little man.
Answers that came easy,
accountable only to me,
Now escape me,
Because of you,
I am now two.
My first thought
what is right for us.
Don't think "me" much.
And that's how it should be...
Now, though, the two
are on the brink of three.
And is that right for two?
Proceeding slowly, we shall see.
I'm sooooo outclassed on this slam! Love to read what y'all write!
Love has its own math
I discovered when we met
One plus one is one
Thanks so much for coming by y'all... I am so impressed with your artistry...(and flattered of your loyalty every week, it means a lot)
Having to calculate
Makes my head throb and throb
Keeping up with counts of dances
and number of screws
and miles to empty
and cups of sugar
and conversion factor from Celsius to Fahrenheit
and length of sides
and the Pythagorean theorem
and....
I feel like screaming!
...guess I shouldn't be an engineer then, huh?
simple math dictates
the number of lovers past
square root of my PI
Hmm... I don't usually do poetry but, I should broaden my horizons right, Miss Alise?
It was a moment to taste her pie.
My neck encircled by two sides, I,
Felt I was ready but I,
Couldn't handle the radii.
She co-signed... damn!
Dividing her two ankles,
I didn't want to regress; I tried to best fit the angle.
But I couldn't try an angle with two ankles.
It was worse when that English girl left for a couple of bilinguals.
